Get Your Work Into Rave Experience
Calling graphic design students, young designers, artists and creatives.
We’re inviting students to create an original rave flyer or poster for the chance to have their work included in Rave Experience, a new 360-degree immersive production combining film, animation, dance, music and projection.
The Challenge
Explore the incredible visual culture surrounding British rave in the late 1980s and early 1990s and use it as inspiration to create something completely original.
Your design could draw inspiration from acid house, hardcore, techno and jungle, warehouse parties, clubs and free parties, pirate radio, DIY graphics and the explosion of rave culture across Britain.
Look at original rave flyers and posters for inspiration, but don’t simply copy an existing design. We want to see your interpretation of that world.
Create a flyer for a completely fictional rave. Invent everything — the rave name, date, location, DJs, music, promoter, ticket price and directions.
Experiment with distorted or futuristic typography, hand lettering, photocopy and Xerox textures, halftones, collage, fluorescent colours, geometric shapes, layering, repetition and early computer graphics.
Your Work Could Become Part Of The Show
Selected designs will be incorporated into Rave Experience, appearing within the projected and animated world surrounding the audience.
How To Take Part
Designs can be created digitally or by hand and should be A4 or slightly larger, portrait or landscape.
Final designs should be submitted as a high-quality JPG, JPEG or PDF. Students should keep their original artwork or working files where possible.
