SUSTAINABILITY AT CARNIVAL
Small changes. Less waste. More reuse.
We want Carnival to be a celebration of our community while being mindful of our impact on the environment.
We focus on practical ways to reduce waste, reuse what we already have and make more sustainable choices wherever possible.
01
COSTUMES
Our costumes are designed to have more than one life. Wherever possible, we reuse, recycle and upcycle costumes and materials from previous events, transforming them into something new for future Carnivals.
02
MERCHANDISE
We reuse existing merchandise wherever possible. Following our rebrand, rather than replacing perfectly usable items, we update them with new branding, stickers and details.
We also deliberately retained elements of our existing colour palette, helping us reuse more and waste less.
03
REUSABLE CUPS
We use reusable cups at our Carnival bars instead of single-use cups. They are collected, washed and used again throughout the event, significantly reducing the amount of waste we create.
04
SOLAR-POWERED STAGE
Our outdoor stage is powered using solar energy. Solar panels charge the system, allowing us to use renewable energy to power live performances throughout Carnival.
It is a practical example of how we can reduce our reliance on traditional power sources while still delivering a brilliant live event.
05
REUSE & REPURPOSE
We build Carnival with reuse in mind. Scenery, props, materials and equipment from previous projects are stored and repurposed wherever possible rather than starting from scratch each year.
What worked once can often be reimagined, rebuilt and used again.
